Design Tip Thursday!

Your laundry room is a room you spend a TON of time in, unfortunately.  If you are going to be in that space for a long time, make it an enjoyable space to be in!  Paint it your favorite color  and add decor that you will like looking at while you're in there!  Make sure you have extra towels and anything you may need while doing  your laundry.  Make it a space you love to be in, even if you are doing laundry!

Paint your room a fun, bright color!

Find creative ways to store all of your extra items!

Your laundry room can be decorative and functional!

Enjoy!

Color Tuesday!

Today's color is a classic color, it looks beautiful with so many colors.  It's navy blue!  This color looks amazing with colors like khaki and coral.  It is a great base color, because of it's ability to stay in style and pair well with other colors.

Love the rich color of the leather with the white and navy.

The patterns are really pretty in this space!

I love the contrast of these two colors!

Enjoy :)

Organization Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing Spring Break!  Today's topic is shoe storage!  A few different ideas for what ever it is you may need.  Large cloth or metal bins are a great storage ideas for everyday shoes.  Have a sandal bin, dressy bin and casual bin, its a super easy system and will fit in any size closet!  If you prefer seeing each pair you have, they make countless shelf systems that are easy to install and then you can see each lovely pair looking at you each morning!  Whatever it may be, shoe storage is super important to keep your shoes looking nice and remembering what you have!
A lovely shelving system so each pair is visible, what a lovely sight!

A great shoe storage for beside your door!  Keeps shoes hidden and tucked away!  (It's from IKEA, so it's a bargain!)

If you need a small place for extra shoes, check out this shoe wheel!  It holds 30 pairs and you can store it easily.  How cool is that?

Enjoy!

Cool Find Friday!

Since Summer is fast approaching, I thought I'd share some lovely outdoor seating ideas.  Using outdoor throw pillows and plants can really make your outdoor area an amazing place for you and guests to enjoy the warm weather.

I love the upside down buckets as side tables!

Wouldn't you love to curl up with a book here?

Design Tip

Give your existing pieces new life!  You don't always have to go out and find something new.  If you like the shape and size of your existing piece or accessory, then fix it up!  You can either paint it or silver/gold leaf it.  Both are easy and will give your piece a new fresh look. I recently silver leafed a coat hanger and it looked great when it was done, and it couldn't have been more simple!  Don't underestimate yourself, give it a shot!

You can literally apply this finish to almost anything!

Inspiration Wednesday

The sunshine has proven to be inspirational this past week.  It inspired DIY projects last week at Jill's house, and my weekend to be filled with running around Little Rock with my sunroof down.  The weather has been so nice over the past week, it just makes you want to get out of the house and be happy.  I love the spring time before the summer starts.  Go get some sunshine!

Happy quote for the day!

Open the windows and let some sunshine inside!

Orange you happy it's color Tuesday?

I just couldn't resist the title!  That being said, orange is one of those colors that stay popular.  With all the variations from bright orange to terra cotta colors, everyone loves orange.  Pops of this lovely color can really make or break a room.  Be cautious with it, but pops and accents of this color are lovely!  It always stays in style, and can set a room off beautifully!

Love these accent throws!  Eye catching!

Pretty little orange trims look light and beautiful in this space.

I know she doesn't have anything to do with interiors, but she does look awesome in the orange ensemble.

Enjoy!

Pantry Organization

The pantry is the control center for your home.  Making it as efficient as possible is most important to make sure it functions well for your family.  You don't need to super organized  to have an organized pantry.   Using storage boxes and jars with chalkboard tags, you can easily store boxes and change the label when needed!  I love the idea of having a snack box, kids know exactly what box to go to when their getting their snacks and you can control what you put in it.  This system is also easier when it is time to go to the grocery store, you can easily see what is needed, without having to dig around to see whats left.  In short, a happy pantry = a happy & efficient home!

This pantry uses mostly jars to organize dry goods.

Just a few storage boxes and your pantry will be like new!

LOVE the chalkboard tags, that can be changed out easily!

Enjoy!

Design Tip Thursday!

Accent walls are a great way to bring color and pattern into your room, without having to do each wall.  Accent walls are always great behind beds and sofas.  But, you aren't limited to just the usual accent walls.  Bring out a wall that you want to put your favorite pieces of furniture or piece of art on or use the place you want to use as your focal wall as the place for your accent color.  You can do any color or pattern on any wall you wish, the possibilities are endless.

I LOVE this cute little accent wall, your eye goes straight to this wall, where the art is hung.

Decide where you want your focal pointe to be, and that is a great place for your accent wall.

Accent walls can be light and neutral, such as this one.

Inspiration Wednesday!

I just wanted to share something that has always been an inspiration to me, even though it is not something I could ever do.  It inspires me in other ways, mostly through art, I cannot count how many ballerina drawings and paintings I have done.  They are beautiful, graceful, delicate and light.  Seeing them in person is even more moving then seeing them in a picture.

Color of the day? Grey!

Grey is one of my all time favorite colors.  It is a classic, you can't go wrong with it!  It pairs beautifully with other colors, and it can be as soft or as bold as you want it and still look amazing.  Grey can be applied to any aspect of your home from walls to seating.  It is the perfect color for elements you don't want to change regularly, such as your sofa. You can change the accessories around it as it is a beautiful neutral base for other items in the space.

Grey really pops up against the white trim and dark floors!

Love grey and turquoise together!

Grey walls and seating with pops of color and pattern!  Gorgeous.

Cool Find Friday!

Wreaths aren't always for outdoor decor!  You can incorporate wreaths into your spaces inside as well.  They can be more simple and made out of things that are more reflective of the look you are trying to achieve.

This starfish wreath is simple and clean.  It ties into the other decor that surrounds it.

This is a great alternative to hang over your headboard, a simple antler wreath.

Design Tip Thursday

If your space needs a breath of fresh air, you can achieve a new look with simply purchasing a rug!  This is such an easy way to give a boring room a whole new look.  You can play around with colors, patterns and textures.  Rugs come in so many styles and colors, you can certainly achieve any look.  If you don't want to invest time into painting and buying new accessories, try getting a new rug for your space.

This room doesn't have much pattern in it, a striped rug is a great addition and doesn't overpower the space.

A classic checked rug in navy, the sizing is perfect for the space to create a cozy sitting area by the fire place.
Rugs can be patterned without being overbearing, just opt for a softer color pallet.

Enjoy!

Inspirations for Spring

The ocean inspires a million colors.  The deep waters and colors of coral reefs are what is inspiring me at the moment.  The colors are brilliant and the shapes and textures are being reflected onto clothing and interior accessories.  Draw inspiration from things you may not see everyday, and appreciate the beauty of it.

Gorgeous colors of coral reefs.

Enjoy!  Hope you're inspired!
