Inspiration Wednesday!

I am feeling in such a great mood today!  I feel rested, my hair is cooperating with me, I got to spend some time drawing last night and I LOVE my job so much! So, I am going to just share a few quotes with you today, hopefully one of them will speak to you or inspire your day to be better. ;)

Color Tuesday!

Aqua has long been a favorite color of mine.  It is a gorgeous color and pairs well with SO MANY things!

Love the combo of all three of these colors!  The white keeps is clean and airy while the camel colors keep it grounded.

This is an awesome example of a bold statement made with blue and orange!  Loving the trim work on the drapes.

Ahh this kitchen is super light and fresh, just a few soft pops of color, then an eye catching table.

Organization Monday!

This area can get out of hand quicker than most!  All it takes is one shove of a towel or blanket to mess everything up.  The linen closet is a forgotten space in a lot of homes.  But, on occasion, guests do access this space to get things.  So you want it to look presentable, right?!  Here are some lovely examples of some well organized linen closets that still look great!

This closet is very guest friendly, it even includes a hamper for your guests to toss their used linens!

Love that there is a touch of decor in this closet, who says a closet can't be decorated as well?!

I know this isn't a closet, but a VERY cute organization solution for your bathroom or a guest bath.

Very organized and labeled so guests know exactly where everything is at.

Design Tip Thursday! Clear that clutter!

This blog idea was given to me by a sweet client of ours, who wanted to know about putting decor above her kitchen cabinets.

Ok, so there are a few quick, easy and inexpensive ideas for those who have that awkward cabinet space above the top.  I am definitely one of them!


Idea #1:
If you really need the space for extra storage, then baskets are a great option!
They clear the clutter and add a pop of color.

Make sure your baskets vibe with the decor of your room.  These help to clear out any clutter, but you still get to use that space if you need it!  It would be a great place to store picnic items or holiday dishes. 

Idea #2:

If you would rather have the space clear and clean, a plate display would work here.  A very small, staggered plate display should be hung on the wall to eliminate that weird view point from the floor.  

This idea still allows for a clean look, but you still get to display a little something.

Exciting News for J. Lawrence Design

I am so excited to share that Jill has been featured in Soiree Magazine as one of 2013 Women to Watch!  Jill was honored last Thursday night along with 28 other amazing women at a reception at the Capitol Hotel.  Congrats Jill!
